Construction
LOGS WNC - Loads Of Good Shelter - has been in the construction business since 1978. We have done just about every type of home including Timber Frame, conventional "stick" built homes and log homes. We are also an approved builder of the unique Deltec round homes (deltechomes.com). We are members of the National Association of Home Builders.
Site Evaluation:
Before beginning the constrution process it is important that we inspect your site to evaluate the suitability of the house plan you are considering. Any house can be put on any lot but it is better to work with the land rather than spend unnecsssay money to make a square peg fit in a round hole. We can prepare your site for access and futhur evaluation including road building, septic approval and well installation.
Costing:
The biggest impact on construction in the mountains is the site work. Difficult sites and long driveways can run the cost up significantly. While it's possible to spend less money on a house these are the current costs for a mid trim level home in the Western North Carolina area:

- Log on Log: $165-$200 per sq ft.
- Hand crafted hand hewn: $200K-$275K
- Timber frame: $200-$250 per sq ft.
- Deltec: $165-$200 per sq ft.
- Conventional: $165-$195 per sq ft.
We will try to work with you on your dream home but please have a realistic budget figure.
How to get started:
Have your property surveyed with boundary lines clearly market. Pick a plan that fits your budget - keep in mind that long roads and a difficult site will run up the cost. Contact us for information and site evaluation.
